Ocktoberfest 2011

Another sold-out Oktoberfest Celebration with dancing, singing, and dining, all in the spirit of the season.

The fifteen-piece Double Eagle Oktoberfest band played all night.

Guests settled in early, sampling the various Ocktoberfest beers. Wine, water, and soft drinks were also available for tots and designated drivers.

The band led the crowd in a variety of sing alongs. Every table had the music sheets to follow.

At the call of the band leader, all were happy to chant and toast:

Ein Prosit, ein Prosit, der Gemütlichkeit ziga zaga ziga zaga, HOI HOI HOI

Caretaker Stewart Waltrab took charge of the open bar early on.

Caretaker Bill Hodge, above left, took over duties at the bar later, as event producer Rick Brown (with a little help from his wife, Joanne), lends a hand.

The band was fed and went right back to making music for dancing and singing.

It was hard to stay in your seat with the great German music, no matter what your age.

Louis de Lorgeril, an exchange student from Paris, joins Kris Adams in a duet.

Later, Kris is joined by the band leader and Kristen McAuliffe to belt out another number.

Not to be outdone, Louis and Andrew Mades stand up to lead the gang in yet another tune.

Many folks recorded the antics of friends for proof later on.

Although this annual event has become a tradition for many,  lots of first-time attendees vowed to return next year.
